The Ontario Cell Biology Symposium brings together researchers from around the province with the aim of creating new research opportunities and fostering new collaborations. This Symposium aims to provide a forum for students and postdoctoral fellows to present their research. This meeting will cover important topics in cell biology, including signal transduction, metabolism, organelles, cellular architecture, cellular trafficking and advanced microscopy, with a portion of the meeting dedicated to translational studies and emerging methodologies. We aim to create an inclusive environment for this meeting, and one that will feature diverse participants.

In 2023, the Fifth Annual Ontario Cell Biology Symposium will be held in person at University of Guelph, with an option for full virtual attendance of talks and posters. The meeting will be held from Aug. 10-11, 2023.

The Symposium will feature Keynote talks from leaders in cell biology and related fields. The majority of talks will be selected from the submitted abstracts, with priority given to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early career researchers. Additional opportunities for poster presentation will be provided for abstracts not selected for oral presentations, as space permits. Abstract submission will open shortly.

All attendees must register before the conference.

We are pleased to offer travel support for some attendees from institutions from Northern Ontario (recognizing increased cost of travel to attend the conference). Registrants from Northern institutions should contact the conference: ontariocellbiology@gmail.com  prior to registering to discuss opportunities for travel support.

To register, click here (same link as the "Register Now" button above). Registration will also provide attendees with a variety of options for accommodations.

Registration deadlines:

Early Registration at reduced rate: July 7th, 2023 at 11:59pm

Regular Registration: August 4th, 2023 at 11:59pm

To submit an abstract, click here (must be done separately from registration).

Abstract submission deadlines:

To be considered for a short talk: July 7th, 2023 at 11:59pm **

To be considered only for a poster only: August 4th, 2023 at 11:59pm **

** please note that we have limited slots available for talks and posters. Talks will be selected from the submitted abstracts in advance of the meeting. While we aim to provide as many opportunities for poster presentation as possible, submission of abstracts for poster presentation may close before the above deadline if capacity for poster presentation is reached before the deadline.
